BRECON BEACONS, VIEW 2

This is the second of our three views of the Brecon Beacons. The Beacons are, of course, very popular with walkers, especially in the summer time, and we often receive emails from people seeking information on climbing on the tops. I am afraid I cannot actually answer these questoions as - ashamed as I probably should be to admit it - I have never been much of a high-level walker myself.... I am more than content to admire the mountains from a distance, thereby saving wear and tear on my legs - and my nerves. However, if any visitors to these pages are inspired to come to the area and "head for the hills" I would suggest that - particularly for less experienced walkers - a visit that the Mountain Centre at Libanus or the Brecon Beacons Information area of the TIC in the Cattle Market car park are a must. The area is beautiful to look at, but all sorts of hazards can beset the unwary or the ill-prepared.
